Workshop with Noèlia Díaz-Vicedo

On 4th July poet and translator Noèlia Díaz-Vicedo led two sold-out workshops in the exhibition. Participants discussed  the limitations, losses and gains of translation in the first workshop and then had a go at translating Noèlia’s Catalan and Spanish versions of Deryn’s poem ‘Home’. In the second workshop the ‘gains’ of translation really came into their own as participants left literary translation behind in favour of freely flowing personal interpretations of home, translation and poetry.

Below are images of the two workshops and of some of the wonderful poetry that was produced on that very hot Wednesday afternoon.
