On 3rd and 5th July Manuela and Ricarda led three very inspiring workshops at Whitecross (Hereford) and Pershore High Schools for Year 7-10. We were very impressed by the enthusiasm and creativity of the students. All three workshops focused on the Western European journey of Deryn’s poem as a majority of the students were taking French and/or Spanish classes. Their translations are based on the versions by Elise Aru and Silvia Terron and on the art films by Kate McMillan, Benoît Laffiché and Heather Connelly & Belen Cerezo.
Here are some impressions of the workshops. As all students were under age we are unfortunately not able to post any film recordings of their wonderful performances. Instead we have included two sound recordings of performances devised by Year 10 students at Pershore High School.
