Workshop with poet Deryn Rees-Jones: Exploring notions of home, language and migration

‘Home is dreams.’ Notes for a poem by 7-year-old Evita.

Thursday 4 May 2017, 18:00 – 20:00,
Europe House, Churchill Room, 32 Smith Square, London SW1P 3EU

Over a glass of wine, participants will be invited to discuss what ‘home’ means to them, explore its cultural, emotional and linguistic meanings via practical exercises, and take part in a creative writing session with our poet-in-residence.
The material generated in this workshop (alongside the material derived from an earlier workshop in Hereford) will subsequently be used by Deryn to write up a poem about home.

Please note: This event is open to anyone who speaks more than one language (subject to limited number of places).

The event is free but you need to register here.

This workshop is organised by Manuela and Ricarda in collaboration with Dr Simon Coffey.
It is funded by the Department of Culture, Media & Creative Industries, King’s College London.
