Curatorial talk, 18 January 2018
We would like to thank the conference organisers and SOAS for their generous support of the project.

The exhibition of our project previewed in January 2018 at SOAS, University of  London, displayed in the SOAS Conference Suite in the North Block of the Senate House.  The show consisted of  poetry, art films and vocal recording/readings as well as paper objects representing the  two poetical and translational European journeys . We talked about the project (its genesis, theoretical frameworks and its relevance to multilingualism and multilingual identities in contemporary art & literature) as well as what ‘home’ means today, and discussed the various works with delegates and audience. At the end, the audience participated in a polylingual exercise: each participant was asked to think of the word ‘home’ and say it loud in their mothertongue(s). We then recited our different versions of ‘home’ in unisono in the exhibition space, creating a live multilingual vocal performance of ‘home’.
